The challenge

Turning existing expertise into structured learning

Curaleaf International had clinical expertise and a series of webinars, but needed a clear learning pathway and a better route from discovering a course to completing it. Our brief covered the whole experience: define the learning approach, write and produce the courses, and build the website and learning platform around them.

Inside the learning experience

Tailored courses for different levels of clinical knowledge

Each course combines video, written lessons, interactive diagrams and knowledge checks. In the core clinical course, patient scenarios let learners apply what they have studied, with feedback explaining each answer.

  • ADHD
Interactive product tiles reveal supporting explanations within the clinical practice course.

Interaction built into the lesson

In this lesson on product types and administration routes, learners select each product tile to replace the image with a short explanation of its administration route, onset of action, duration of effect and key considerations.

A platform built around the learner

Built with WordPress and LearnDash, the platform connects public course pages with registration and a personal learning dashboard. HCPs can study at their own pace, track progress, complete knowledge checks and receive certificates after successfully finishing a course.

How we delivered it with Curaleaf International

Medical content, learning design and development in one team

We reviewed audience needs, existing content, SEO and the website experience, then mapped modules, lessons and sources in a workshop with Curaleaf International. Our writers developed the scripts, a learning development specialist shaped the teaching approach, and Curaleaf International’s Research Director, Dr Simon Erridge, provided clinical expertise and sign-off.

Scripts specified learning objectives, narration, visuals, interactions and assessment feedback. Production combined AI-generated presenter videos with written and interactive content, reviewed and signed off by Curaleaf International. We also supported SEO and CPD accreditation submissions, followed by ongoing hosting and support.

“We are really proud of the Education Platform, and working with Medico has meant the project went from discussion, to project plan, to a live educational resource with support at every step of the way. Building the site was not a simple task, with regulatory considerations, international expansion and localisation, video integration and high medical standards. Medico’s expertise meant we were confident in the delivery, and are able to provide healthcare professionals with a resource we trust, so they can too.”

The result

A complete education programme, ready to develop further

5

CPD-certified courses

137

Healthcare professionals registered by September 2026

6.25

Hours of direct learning

The UK platform launched on 1 April 2026, and all five courses subsequently received certification from The CPD Certification Service.

137 healthcare professionals signed up in the first five months after launch, to September 2026, and registrations are still building as Curaleaf International shares the programme through its clinical networks. Completion and practice-impact data will follow as the first cohorts work through the courses.

The Curaleaf Education Platform will continue to roll out across further international markets, as part of Curaleaf International’s wider global commitment to advancing responsible medical cannabis education. Every market runs on the same course structure and platform, so each new launch is a translation and adaptation job rather than a rebuild.

“This platform sets a new benchmark in medical cannabis education, rigorous, evidence-based, and long overdue. It fills a critical gap in healthcare learning with the quality and credibility the subject deserves”

From the client

“The Medico team understood the ambition behind our education platform, and the challenges that came with it. They helped us turn ideas, insights, and expertise from colleagues across the organisation into a clear vision, and that became the strategy and foundation for everything we built.

Their planning, foresight and organisation were fundamental to getting the platform live. Together we’ve delivered a free, CPD-accredited resource that gives healthcare professionals access to high-quality, evidence-based education in medical cannabis, and a strong foundation as we roll out across international markets.”
